Guidance for Events and Arts Festivals

The Department of Arts offers technical guidance and advisory services for those organizing artistic events including arts festivals. This is based on policy guidelines for the organisation of artistic events and is meant to improve content production, contractual arrangements with performers, community engagement, and overall delivery of the artistic events. Through this service, the Department of Arts also guides on clearances from various Government agencies. For events like arts festivals, organisers are required to engage the Department of Arts in writing at least six weeks before the festival is held. This gives room for the Department of Arts to review the plans for the event and be part of the stakeholder preparatory meetings for such big events.
